Introduced PHP. Wrote a simple Hello, World PHP script. Also wrote a form handler, and introduced PHP variables.

Practiced editing images with Adobe Photoshop.

Practiced resizing photos, cropping photos, and saving images for the web. Also practiced using a photo scanner.

Discussed absolute and relative addressing.

Discussed the anchor tag and used it to create different types of links including site navigation links.

Introduced more HTML formatting tags.

Week 1

Week of 14 Jan 20 (Wed and Fri)

Introduced the course outline, syllabus, and CIT computer lab.

Discussed the web (internet), browsers, web servers, standards, and current web technologies.

Introduced markup language, syntax, file names, URLs and HTML. Created an index file home page and a template file on the CIT public web server and accessed it through the internet.

Created a home page on the CIT secure web server and started a sample page. Covered headers, spacing, comments, special characters, paragraphs, blocks, and introduced various HTML formatting tags.
